Where am I? 🧭
Hello dear reader,
Have you ever tried to find your way somewhere, but you just can’t get your GPS to locate where you actually are?
You don’t know whether to turn left or right at the next junction, because you have no idea of your bearings? It can actually be disorientating, stressful, and definitely not conducive to finding a way through.
I also recently read about a man who thought he’d booked a flight to Birmingham, Alabama, but accidentally found himself in my home city instead.
In my view this is a happy accident but probably caused him a whole heap of trouble - walking round the wrong Birmingham, having no idea where he was or why he couldn’t find what he was looking for.
And a final little anecdote from me - for every 1° you are off course, you will end up being 1 mile off course after travelling 60 miles. If you’re headed on a long journey, that means you’ll be a long way from where you intended to be, even with those tiny margins.
So, here are some quick thoughts from me
- It’s disorientating when we don’t know where we are right now.
- If you don’t know where you are, or where you are going, you’ll end up somewhere else
- Heading out on any journey ill-prepared leads to unnecessary diversions, discouragements and disappointments - why would we embark on new adventures without taking stock of where we are?
I want to encourage you as we start to head to the end of this month to
spend some time reviewing where you are right now.
What’s working?
What are you most enjoying?
What’s not working for you?
What is causing you the most frustration or boredom?
When you consider where you want to be, what are your hopes?
And, what are you frightened of?
What can you change to make you that little bit closer to where you want to be at the end of 2024.
Love, Hannah x
