Hannah’s Book Review 🎁

Hello!

How are your Christmas preparations going? Are all your presents bought? If they are, good on you! Mine definitely aren’t. I seem to need a bit of pressure, and I’m learning to reconcile myself to that fact instead of envying all those who have their gifts bought, wrapped, and sitting prettily under the tree.

Alright, I do envy you a little bit—but I’m learning to accept that’s just not really me.

I’d like to avoid wrapping on Christmas Eve if possible. Last year, I managed to finish a day early, which felt like a massive win—probably a lifetime best! I’m hoping to at least match that this year, or even finish another day earlier. It’s all progress, right?

Anyway, I’d like to help you out. No, I’m not offering to do your wrapping, but I can help you with gift ideas!

If you’re looking for something special for someone you love—or even a little treat for yourself—have a listen to my latest podcast episode.

In it, I share some of my favourite recent reads.

Even if you’re not shopping for a book lover and don’t fancy reading the books yourself, people often enjoy these episodes because I talk about how the themes and lessons can apply to our own lives.

I take each book, offer an honest review, and share why it impacted me and what we can take away from it.

I won’t spoil the whole episode for you, but here’s a little teaser to whet your appetite:

  •  My favourite book of the year so far

  •  A book I thought was a bit over-hyped

  •  My favourite memoir of the year

  •  A book with five different narrators

  •  Two books that shift back and forth in time

  •  What I’m currently reading—and what’s next on my list

As someone who loves to read, I’d also love to hear your book recommendations! What were your top hits of the year? What are you currently reading? And which books did you not enjoy?

Before I sign off, here’s a quote, a stat, and a question to leave you with:

1 quote:
“Books make great gifts because they have whole worlds inside of them. And it's much cheaper to buy somebody a book than it is to buy them the whole world!” – Neil Gaiman

1 stat:
A quarter of all books bought are purchased during the Christmas season.

1 question:
What’s the most meaningful book you’ve ever received or given as a gift, and why did it leave such an impact? Hit reply and let me know!

Love,
Hannah x

P.S  I’m also excited to soon be interviewing Penny Wincer! I mentioned her in the Sandwich Generation episode, which you can listen back to [HERE].
